Have you ever seen Pinterest fail memes or tried to bake something but failed? The show “Nailed it” is inspired by both of those things. Nailed it premiered on March 9, 2018 and is only available on netflix. It has 7 seasons and it is rated TV/PG. The show is a reality contest mixed with chaos and messes. It is about a bunch of contestants that are really bad and inexperienced in baking have to re-create realistic cakes and the winner gets a $10,000 dollar prize. The contestants have 12 hours to bake a cake. Since everyone is really bad at baking, the cake results end up being really funny and ugly.
The host of Nailed it is Nicole Byers and the co-host is Jacques Torres. They are best friends and they came together to make Nailed it. Nicole said “I've been doing a comedy for a long time and the production company reached out and pitched the idea to me. I really liked it, and I felt like I'd be able to toe the line between judging people's creations and being funny, but not being too mean.”
Nicole is 38 years old. She is a television host, comedian, and actress. She was born in New jersey. She is also the first black woman in the Emmys 72-year history to ever receive a hosting nod. The other host is Jacques. He is 64. He is a French pastry chef and a chocolatier. He is a member of the international culinary Center Community as dean of pastry arts. A fun fact about both of them is that Jacques is a gemini and Nicole is a virgo.
Everything was going amazing, until Nailed it got cancelled. On March 1, 2022, production of Nailed it was shut down after crew members went to strike a secure contract with the International Alliance of the Theatrical Stage Employees. According to Deadline, “The walkout happened in the middle of filming the 8-episode halloween arc of Nailed it”. IATSE said “The approximately 50 person crew on Season 7 of Netflix's unscripted baking competition 'Nailed It!' are on strike for union representation”. Willow Porter said “I'm sad that it shut down”. Nicole thinks the show's future is uncertain and she said “I dont think it's coming back”. Nailed it has not aired an episode since October, 2022. In conclusion, Nailed it is a fun, interesting show and it's a great watch. It's rated 7.4/10 on IMDb, 4/5 on common sense media, and 95 percent on rotten tomatoes. Crystal Jackson said “I absolutely love it! All shows have their good and bad and so does this one, but overall it's different and fun. I love how playful and spunky Nicolle is, even if a bit obnoxious at times, still makes the show feel more normal. Like they are real people and no one is perfect and can laugh and play.” You can watch episodes on Youtube if you go to the official Netflix channel.
