Colts Chronicles has been around for several years now in its current form--and even existed as it different version as far back as 2016. You may be wonder: what was Colts Chronicles like when it was created? Well, look no further because this article is a complete timeline of Colts Chronicles from 2016-2024, including how it was created and even what it's like to write articles now
Starting at the beginning of the timeline and the first Colts Chronicles: In 2019 Current 6th grade ELA teachers Mr. Anspaugh and Mrs. Ayer wanted to start a type of newspaper, “I started doing a school newspaper in my honors class, Mrs. Ayer also started doing a school newspaper in her honors class and at the time we had two school newspapers,” Anspaugh had said. Unfortunately these newspapers didn’t last long and both got shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It wasn’t until two years later that journalism became a class for students and instead of two separate newspapers they formed into one website.

Before covid journalism wasn't a class and an honors ELA class wrote articles instead
The first version of Colts Chronicles was very different from the version you see now. For starters, Mr. Anspaugh’s website was called Catch Up With The Colts ``The way we set up the website was different, the homepage was different, the layout, we had it where you had to scroll through all the articles,” said Anspaugh. This is all very different From Colts Chronicles now where it’s very easy to find articles and sections.
Now that you know how Colts Chronicles started and what it was like at the beginning, we can go a little further into the future, when journalism was a class. “When I was in 6th grade it was the first year that there actually was a class for journalism so it was kind of difficult to get started,” said Ona Terrell, an 8th grader who has been taking journalism since 6th grade. Back when journalism first started there wasn’t a very strict guideline on how to write and post articles, making the process very difficult.
