How to Run a Meeting

Tips and Tricks:

• When running a meeting, set the precedent for how the meeting will be ran (every time) at the beginning of the meeting. This could be along the lines of stating who will be taking minutes, who is running stack, what procedure for voting/motions (Roberts Rules of Order), if this conversational space will be one of mutual respect, etc

  • • make sure someone is taking minutes, someone is watching for comments on the live stream on facebook, etc before the meeting starts [these could be LCORE members]

• At the beginning of the new administration you should establish community agreements to guide discussion in meetings, these agreements should be refereed to when someone is out of order and disrespecting the mutual agreements agreed upon

  • • these agreements should be reviewed at the beginning of each term when necessary

• Zoom settings can be changed to allow for live streaming on Facebook or youtube (refer to the zoom page for more information)
