About Adviser

Hi, my name is Madeline Frisk and I am the Interim Coordinator of Student Government Relations & Adviser to Greek Life. I graduated from Portland State University with my Masters of Science in Postsecondary Adult and Continuing Education: Educational Leadership & Policy. I also completed my undergraduate studies at Oregon State University and received my Bachelors of Science in Merchandising Management with a minor in writing. I am passionate about student government as I was able to get involved with ASPSU during my time as a graduate student and I am an active alumni member of my local sorority, Chi Theta Phi. I have loved getting to be involved as a student leader and employee at two amazing universities here in Oregon and now as a professional. As a leader I specialize in leadership development, mentoring, creative problem-solving, and collaboration. In my free time I love thrifting, reading (mainly true crime, mystery, horror, but occasionally some other genres), listening to podcasts, riding my bicycle, working on crafty projects, and I love Halloween/spooky things. I've lived in Oregon in the Corvallis and Portland areas respectively since 2008 and I still feel like I have so much left to explore. I look forward to getting to know you all better and I'm excited to be your adviser.

Things I'm Passionate About:

As a new professional in student affairs/higher education I'm passionate about being involved in NASPA, a student affairs organization dedicated to professional development, research, and advocacy within the New Professionals and Graduate Students spaces, Fraternity and Sorority Knowledge Community, and the Student Government Knowledge Community. In 2017, my predecessor Candace Avalos created the Student Government Knowledge Community and it is an amazing resource to have as I grow within this role. I strongly believe in student government being an opportunity to learn how to become a positive change agent in your community and I encourage you all to find ways to level-up your engagement on campus and in your communities always.
