Objective: This document is to assist LCORE members in understanding the hiring process.
As LCORE members, you will be put in situations where you need to hire someone efficiently to fulfill vacant positions in the middle of a term. The following checklist will help you conduct this process more efficiently:
First, applications are reviewed by ASPSU Advisor and ASPSU President. Once the applications are complete and the transcript has been checked, you will be contacting the applicant via email to set-up an interview schedule.
Email Draft:
Dear [Student First Name],
My name is [Your name], the [Position] in ASPSU (PSU Student Government). We have reviewed your application for the [Position applied] and would like to invite you for an interview. Please send me your availability next week by [date you need the response by].
The ASPSU Leadership Core member(s) will be interviewing you for approximately 30 minutes. You will have time to ask questions at the end of the interview.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Once the applicant sends the availability, communicate with other LCORE members to see if at least another LCORE member can be present during the interview.
Pick the date & time and send a google invitation with a zoom link to the applicant and ALL LCORE members.
Notify the applicant via email that you have sent a google invitation for the interview.
Copy and paste this document into the interview folder and use the applicant’s name as the doc name. Share this document with LCORE members during the interview.
After the interview, communicate with LCORE members about whether or not the applicant fits the criteria for the applied position.
Finally, ASPSU President should notify the applicant via email whether or not the applicant will be hired or not.
