Tuition and Fee Remission: Quarterly payment made by EXITO on your behalf to pay for tuition and fees required by your academic program (Fall, Winter, Spring)
Process for Disbursing 1st Stipend and Remission
EXITO notifies Financial Aid that you are a Trainee and the amount of the EXITO financial support (mid-August)
Financial aid re-packaged to include EXITO monthly stipends and quarterly tuition/fee remissions (late August)
Cannot exceed estimated cost of attendance
Trainees accept modifications to package
Complete stipend form during Trainee Onboarding
The trainee appointment is set up during Trainee Onboarding
After all requirements are met:
Tuition remission payments are made to your student account
Monthly stipend checks are disbursed to you directly

General Info
Does not include health insurance; click here for information and waiver for PSU’s health insurance
Differential tuition rate will be applied when necessary (aka some majors and programs have a different tuition amount)
Total amount calculated based on 23-24 year tuition and fee schedule
EXITO tuition & fee remissions are disbursed through the financial aid office, so are calculated as part of your total aid package
If you have other tuition and/or fee remissions, let EXITO know (exitooperations@pdx.edu) so that we can coordinate your aid with those departments
When is Remission Processed
Disbursed once quarterly: Fall , Winter, and Spring. Payments are processed manually by BUILD Staff.
You won’t see the remission in your student account until we make the payment (think of it like we make a credit card payment). Until then you will see your financial support in the award section of BanWeb (BanWeb>Student Finances > View and Accept My Award > Additional Resources
Trainees must be enrolled at PSU in at least 12 credits to initiate EACH term's remission payment
We have until Friday of the 2nd week of term to disburse remission. After that, we are unable to process remission. If remissions are not processed by then, you will be temp. withdrawn.
Trainee must complete all requirements by the 2nd Wed. of the term. This ensures we have time to process the remission before the deadline (2nd Friday of the term). This includes
Registering full time for the applicable term
Submitting any outstanding MRFs
We typically make payments before the PSU Payment Plan deadline; if there is an EXITO caused delay and you receive a late fee, please email exitooperations@pdx.edu

Monthly Stipends
General Information
Award for making satisfactory progress towards training goals
Designed to offset living expenses while on trainee appt.
Amount for AY 2023-2024 Academic Year: $1,195/month
9 total payments; 3 per term (Sept. 2023 – May 2024) since this is tied to your Trainee appt (Sept. 25 – June 24)
Stipends are paid proactively, meaning that the stipend you receive at the end of the month is for your traineeship next month.
Disbursement schedule: Typically by the last business day of month, Sept. – May
Exception: Sept. payment will be disbursed around 10/5
Please Note: The last stipend, end of May, is compensation for the last month of Trainee Appt. (June)
Disbursement Info
Must maintain full time registration status in a biomedical major for entire academic year. If you drop below full time status, notify EXITO (exitooperations@pdx.edu) immediately
Stipends are not disbursed when Trainees are not registered full time.
If policies and procedures for AY 2023-2024 are not followed or program requirements are not met, stipends may be delayed or suspended
To Set Up Direct Deposit
Go to Banweb and log in to your PSU student account.
Navigate to the Student Finance tab.
Select Set Up Direct Deposit Refund (you may be asked for your Banweb login information again).
Follow the instructions to add an account (you will need the bank routing number and account number).
Under Activate this account for: check Reimbursements if it isn’t already checked.
