Parental involvement is key to student success, and as such, parents are invited and strongly encouraged to visit the school and volunteer to help at any time (unless otherwise instructed by the district concerning any health crisis). That being said, all visitors must have a pass from the office. Administrative Guidelines require that any person entering the building must report directly to the office for clearance. Upon clearance, the person will receive a visitor’s badge to be worn in a manner that is visible while on school property. Visitors, including students from other campuses or students suspended from that campus, who are on school property without authorization are trespassing and are subject to arrest.
The safety/security of our building is the responsibility of each one of us—in the event that you witness someone in the building that does not have a nametag or visitors pass, please cordially greet them and escort them to the office so that an appropriate identification can be made and issued. You are also encouraged to keep your personal items locked up and/or secured at all times. Classroom doors should also be locked for safety.
Parent conferences should be scheduled before or after school—all classroom time should be instructional in nature. If a parent shows up unannounced, please refer them to the office. If a problem persists, please use the intercom button and ask for assistance (i.e., “I need an administrator.”).
Full day visitors, other than parents (i.e., school age children, staff family/relatives, etc.), MUST have prior approval by the principal.
