By Friday at 3:30 p.m. of each week, all teachers shall have developed and uploaded esson plans for the upcoming week. Careful planning is essential to effective teaching. Each teacher is required to have a plan for teaching the Oklahoma Academic Skills that follow the Oklahoma City Public Schools Year at a Glance and Unit Plans. It must be a practical plan that will give focus and direction to instruction.
The weekly plans shall include
not only teaching activities, but integrated guided and independent practice
student assignments
class demonstrations, etc.,
most importantly weekly goals and objectives must be listed.
The Academic Standard, as well as the learning targets, that students are expected to learn and develop for the week or individual day shall be expressed in the lessons.
Lesson plans not only need to be developed at least a week at a time, but should be revised as necessary and available for inspection at all times by your building administrators. Copies should be made during planning periods or before/after school. No student should be sent to the office for copies to be made for class—failure to plan is planning to fail.
Lesson plans must be placed in your grade level Google shared drive in a folder clearly marked Lesson Plans.
