MLK Master Schedule 

2026-2027

7:50:  Doors open and all students go to Cafeteria for breakfast.

8:00:  Contract start time for teachers and staff.

8:10:  Students may go to their designated Wake Up Recess location to begin the 10 minute morning recess time.

8:15:  Classroom teachers will join the other duty teachers for Wake Up Recess at their grade level's designated Wake Up Recess location.

8:20:  Students line up with their classroom teacher and immediately begin going to their classrooms.

8:25:  As teachers walk their classes to the classroom, they will then stop at the door and individually greet students as they come into their classroom.

8:25:  Breakfast is stopped being served and the Tardy Cart breakfast will be given.

8:30:  Morning Meeting begins

8:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.  Morning Meeting

From 8:30 to 8:45 students will be engaged in classroom culture-building activities, including Morning Meeting, PBIS review, Social Contracts, or daily morning routines & procedures.  Positive first interaction activities are vital to our students' social and emotional health. Character Strong will also be implemented during this time.  

Lunch

Teachers should plan on and teach their students the orderly passing of students in the hall. Each classroom teacher will drop off and pick up their students from the cafeteria. It is important to stick to the designated schedule as that has the potential to affect other classes. Please make sure you review the PBIS expectations with your students to ensure a smooth transition.  

Recess

Teachers are to take their class to the playground or designated play area. Classroom teachers will monitor their students. Be alert and walk around. No student will be allowed to re-enter the building without a “pass” from the teacher. Such students must report directly to the office. Teachers are expected to summon assistance when there is an uncertainty about the seriousness of an injury or a discipline problem. At no time is the teacher to leave the playground when students are present. Recess time is set by the teacher and should last no longer than 20-25 minutes.  Include 5 minutes to line up and return to classes.  

3:10 p.m. Dismissal Begins

Afternoon announcements will be made at 3:10 p.m., and dismissal will follow.

Teachers shall direct students to watch classroom technology device for their car/bus number to be input.

3:10:  Student launch & PK/K only can move to dismissal areas.

3:15:  We start putting in the first car rider numbers into our SchoolsafeID App. These students come down immediately to the cafeteria hallway when their name shows up on the screen.

3:15:  1st & 2nd Grade call is made to release all students to dismissal areas

3:18:  3rd & 4th Grade call is made to release all students to dismissal areas

3:20:  All dismissal areas begin releasing

3:25:  Walkers released from building

3:35:  Car line closes once a gap in cars happens

3:35:  All remaining students brought to lobby

Walkers (with pre-approval) - Russell Westbrook Reading Room
