Museums
All state museums (Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery) offer free entrance to visitors that are disabled and an accompanying person but you need to show certification of a disability.
City Museums and most major churches offer free entrances to a person with a disability plus one accompanying person (except for Opera del Duomo Museum, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery and San Marco Museum). The Medici Chapels instead has wheelchair ramps on the ground floor and an elevator that takes you from the Crypt to the first floor, while the Accademia Gallery is wheelchair accessible with ramps located near the David statue and other exhibitions
Public Transport
Buses
Most city buses ride pretty low to permit on and off without difficulty. Some buses are equipped with a special deck for loading wheelchairs and dedicated space on board to park them; request assistance from the driver if he needs to lower the deck to get on
Trams
Trams have no difference in height between the sidewalk and the tram floor
Taxis
Taxi company So.Co.Ta has 4 vans to be used specifically to transport anyone with a disability on a wheelchair. Disabled people who use the taxi service have a 15% reduction on standard rates.
