Parco delle Cascine - Located on the right side of the Arno river, periodically hosts cultural events.
Parco di Villa il Ventaglio - Located on one of the hills in the northeastern area of the city in the style of an English garden.
Parco dell’Albereta (connected to the Giardini dell’Anconella) - together this park and garden make up the second largest green space in Florence and are home to cultural events.
Villa Fabbricotti - A monumental entrance and a beautiful villa in the middle, with temples, marble statues, and stone basins embellishing the natural environment.
Parco di Villa Strozzi - Has a playground, sport equipments and also a dog area as well as a greenhouse that nowadays hosts many cultural events (especially in the warmer months).
Medici park of Pratolino - Located in the small village of Vaglia, on the hills north of Florence, it is a huge parks for lovers of historic gardens.
Parco Michelangelo - Located on the hill of Piazzale Michelangelo, it is a large public park with a beautiful view of the historic center of Florence.

The Boboli Gardens - The most famous Renaissance garden in the world, part of the Pitti Palace complex. Entrance ticket costs 10 euros, but also includes entry to the nearby Bardini Gardens on the same day.
Bardini Gardens - One baroque garden from the XVII century and one English garden, they are famous for the wisteria pergola and colorful irises, both of which bloom in the spring. Tickets are 10 euros and they also organize exhibitions that are separately ticketed. (A must see in the Spring!)
Orto dei Semplici botanical garden - the third oldest botanical garden in the world, and today is part of the Natural History Museum of Florence. There is a 6 euro entrance ticket to get in.
Free:
Giardino dell’ Orticoltura - Meadows, flowerbeds, areas for children, and an amazing view of Florence. Hosts an Exhibition-Market of Flower and Plants twice a yea, on the last days of April and on the first weekend of October. Just down the hill from campus!
Giardino delle Rose - quiet terraced garden, situated on a hillside just a few steps away from Piazzale Michelangelo with a permanent exhibit of sculptures by the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon.
Museo Stibbert Garden - interesting park surrounding the museum that culminates in a small Egyptian temple that faces an artificial pond.
Giardino dell'Iris - Open to the public only in occasion of the flowering time, usually from April 25th to May 25th. Focus in the Iris which has been the symbol of Florence since 1251.
Orto di Francesco - Located behind the Basilica of Santa Croce, it's a secret garden in the stytle of an ancient monastic garden from the 14th century.
Reservations Necessary:
Medici Villa of Castello - one of the first Italian Renaissance gardens with a secret garden surrounded by high walls where jasmine and aromatic Mediterranean herbs are grown.
Medici Villa La Petraia (Right next to Villa di Castello) - Garden spans over three levels and is a mix of Italian parterre, pools, fountains, and even an English garden.
Torrigiani Gardens - grand romantic park in an English style, filled with exotic plants, a Neo-gothic astronomical observation tower, statues in Egyptian stile and many other secret wonders.
