Hi everyone! My name is Jay Kaufman, and I’m a first-year liberal studies student. Outside of class, I love spending time outdoors — whether that’s backpacking, running, swimming, surfing, or skiing, if it’s outside, I’m there. I’m thrilled to be serving as a Global Ambassador for NYU Hillel this semester! Having grown up moving around a lot, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to build a sense of belonging in a new place. That’s why I’m passionate about helping other students find their footing, whether that means navigating class accommodations for religious observance, connecting with local Jewish communities, or simply sharing Shabbat. Please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m here as a resource and excited to get to know you!
Hello everyone! I’m Tristan Kohanim, and I’m a first-year student at NYU Florence. Outside of class, you’ll usually find me playing piano or traveling with friends, always looking for meaningful ways to connect with people and places. I’m excited to serve as a Brofman Ambassador for NYU Hillel this semester. Having grown up attending Jewish school, I care deeply about building and sustaining Jewish community beyond my home environment. I’m here as a resource, so please feel free to reach out. I’m excited to work with everyone!
