Every semester NYU Florence offers an exciting series of co-curricular community events and activities, special opportunities to try something new, and day trips to visit local areas of cultural interest. These are designed to supplement your academic program and encourage personal development, cultural discovery, and immersion into Italian life! You can find some of the activities planned for the Fall 2025 semester by clicking here!
Students are warmly invited to take advantage of the many student life cultural programs to help them get the most out of their study-away experience in Italy. Don’t miss the chance to get involved by signing up to visit some amazing places, many of which won’t feature on the typical tourist trail!
Stay informed about upcoming events throughout the semester with the Florence Flyer, the NYU Florence Community’s weekly events newsletter! Delivered straight to your NYU email inbox every Sunday at 6 PM, the Florence Flyer keeps you updated on all the exciting happenings. Don’t forget to explore the Event Calendar here for even more details!

Event Registration
To register for an event, simply click the sign-up link provided in the Florence Flyer. You can also find event details and registration forms on the NYU Events Calendar platform.
Trip and extracurricular activity spaces may be limited. In such cases, sign-ups operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re unable to secure a spot for your preferred activity, be sure to add your name to the waitlist. Students on the waitlist will be notified by email if a space becomes available.
Cancellations and No-Show Policy
If a student can no longer attend an OSL event they signed up for, they must notify the Office of Student Life at florence.studentlife@nyu.edu at least 48 hours in advance. This allows the staff to offer the spot to students on the waitlist. We do understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and we encourage students to reach out to the OSL staff for support in managing their participation in future events.
Students who fail to cancel in advance or do not attend an event they registered for will incur a no-show fee: USD 25 for day trips, and 10 USD for local activities. These charges will be automatically billed to the student’s bursar account. If a student is moved off the waitlist with less than 24 hours’ notice, the no-show fee will not apply.
Trip and Events Guidelines
By signing up for an OSL event, participants agree to and accept all terms and conditions outlined in the NYU Florence Release Form.
Students are responsible for communicating any dietary restrictions and mobility needs to the OSL Staff in advance. They are also expected to arrive on time at designated meeting points. If a student chooses to remain at the location and misses the scheduled return, they must notify a staff member and arrange their own transportation back to Florence. In such cases, NYU Florence will not cover any related expenses.
Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior during all activities and trips. Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited during university-sponsored events.
What is The Villa Points Program?
The Villa Points Program is here to reward student's involvement on campus while helping them connect with the NYU Florence community! This initiative encourages students to attend events, engage with the NYU Florence community, share their experiences on social media, and give feedback — all while earning points that can be redeemed for fun rewards like snacks and exclusive NYU Florence merchandise!
