 Ulivi Library

NYU Florence students, faculty, and staff have access to the e-resources and digital collections available through NYU Libraries

In addition to these digital resources, the Ulivi Library provides access to a collection of 7,000 physical books, periodicals and media materials, that mainly reflects the undergraduate courses taught at NYU Florence, in English and Italian. The Ulivi Library Catalog is available online

When is the library open?

The library, located at the ground floor of Villa Ulivi, opens regularly from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, throughout the semester. During exam weeks the library may follow extended opening hours, to be announced.

Access to the library is granted only to current NYU Florence students, faculty and staff during the opening hours. To request on-site access as a visitor, please contact the library staff at florence.library@nyu.edu.

How do I find a book or DVD in the library?

The Ulivi Library is open-stacks, so students can browse for themselves. All library books are labeled to help you locate them on the shelves. To find a book you first need to find its call number in the online catalog. Each shelf in the library is labeled to let you know where books are located based on the first letter(s) of the call number. You can also find maps of the library on the shelves. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to the library staff at the desk or at the reception of Villa Ulivi.

Besides the physical collection in Villa Ulivi, the NYU Community also has access to the e-resources and digital collections through NYU Libraries

How do I check out, renew and return materials at the Ulivi Library?

For checking out, renewing, returning books or general inquiries regarding the library and its collections, please go to a staff member stationed at the library’s front desk. If there is no staff in the library, please go to the reception room at the entrance of Villa Ulivi. You can also contact us sending a message to florence.library@nyu.edu.
