PASC Program Standard 2 is met as follows:
Mills College at Northeastern University partners with local school districts–such as the Oakland Unified School District, the West Contra Costa Unified School District, the Alameda Unified School District, Santa Clara Unified School District, and the San Francisco Unified School District–to create an administrative services preparation program. The district provides access to schools and district leaders who serve as mentors and coaches for the program's candidates. Mills College at Northeastern University contributes faculty expertise in educational leadership, curriculum design and instruction, program design and implementation, and higher education. The university's administrative services preparation program has an advisory committee made up of representatives from the school district, higher education institutions, community organizations, and stakeholder groups. The committee provides guidance and feedback on the program's design and implementation, helps identify resources and partners, and advocates for the program in the community. Mills College at Northeastern and the school district establish regular meetings between program faculty, district leaders, and candidates to discuss program goals, progress, and challenges.
Mills College at Northeastern and the district leaders coordinate to provide high-quality field experiences that align with program goals and requirements. Partners communicate regularly and openly to ensure that candidates receive the support they need to be successful. As part of our evaluative efforts, Yearly, our programs will survey alumni as well as school districts and county agencies of education to assess graduates’ impact in the field.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) template supports putting our partnership commitments in writing. Mills College at Northeastern and the school district share responsibility for candidate recruitment, selection, and guidance. Mills College at Northeastern and the district leaders collaborate on curriculum development and delivery to ensure that candidates receive high-quality instruction that aligns with program goals and requirements.
