Education Specialist (ES) Program Standard 6: Induction Individual Development Plan

ES Program Standard 6 is met as follows:

Within two weeks of the end of each student teaching placement (EDUT 6208 and 6209), the candidate, district-employed supervisor, and program supervisor will collaboratively design the Individual Development Plan to guide the candidate during their induction to teaching and towards their clear credential. During these meetings, each participant will provide a completed copy of the digital Field Experience Assessment Form, which is based on the TPEs and specifically asks for areas of strength and for further growth. Through comparison of these completed forms, the three participants will examine areas of strength and determine areas needing support for further growth during the early teaching experience. These areas are then identified on a new assessment form, which becomes the Individual Development Plan (IDP) and facilitates life-long development as an educator.

The IDP will be kept as a digital file by the program director and the credential analyst to share during the candidate’s induction years. This furthers the collaboration between Mills College at Northeastern University and local schools in supporting successful teaching.
