General Precondition 8: Grievance Process

To be granted continuing accreditation by the Committee on Accreditation, the approved program sponsor must have a clearly delineated grievance process for candidates and applicants. The grievance process information must be accessible to all candidates and applicants and the institution must be prepared to provide documentation that candidates have been informed of the grievance process and that the process has been followed.

General Precondition 8 is met as follows:

Upon enrollment, all credential candidates receive a copy of their respective program Mills College at Northeastern University Credential Handbook that explicitly outlines the credentialing process. Students, in turn, provide written documentation that they have received the Handbook. In addition, students will be directed to review the University-Wide Academic Policies and Procedures,  which describe the criteria and steps to be followed in case of a grievance, as outlined in the Northeastern University Academic Appeals Policies and Procedures

Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Title IX grievances are managed by the Office for University Equity and Compliance. All Graduate Schools Academic Policies may be found in Northeastern University’s current 22-23 Academic Catalog.
