Pupils are given opportunities to develop their skills in Listening and Talking, Reading and Writing. Pupils participate and are assessed in a wide range of experiences and activities in different texts and media through self, peer and teacher assessment. Pupils can then go on to study Nationals in Gaelic and Higher in the Senior Phase.
The Gaelic (Learners) course also comprises four elements: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. These skills are develop through the contexts of Society, Employment, Learning and Culture. Pupils are also expected to complete a Speaking and Writing Assignment, usually completed in March. Pupils will sit an exam at the end of S4 consisting of a Reading & Directed Writing Paper and a Listening Paper.
