Painting of the face in self-portrait
The painting of the face was not done very well as I could not get the skin colour that I wanted. However, the design of the painting was quite good. I tried to incorporate the use of lines to emphasize on my face (for some reason).
Half-complete painting
The painting of the surroundings was pretty bad as I had gone with one idea and changed it halfway. This caused me to place the colours at the wrong place. The bottom of the painting was also accidentaly painted in a very dark colour.
Painting without outline of surroundings
The painting actually turned out to be good due to the yellow that I tried to mix the yellow together with the green that was already present. I have also covered up as much white spots as possible in the painting and painted the hair in black and brown.
Complete painting
I have outlined out some of the designs in my first sketch and my face. The painting turned out pretty well even though it was not what I have expected in the beginning.

In the painting above by Vincent van Gogh, I see a man wearing a yellow-coloured straw hat and a thick coat. He is also staring directly at the viewer.
The background of this painting is also painted in a warm and earthly tone.
The man in the painting is also standing in the middle with the background surrounding him.
The painting also makes use of visible brushstrokes that contain different colours.
In this portrait, the man has a straw hat and the background is brown, possibly suggesting that the man is outdoors and doing something.
The man is also wearing a coat, suggesting that the weather is cold.
The portrait is also formed by the huge amount of lines on his face, possibly emphasizing on it.
The painting also shows the man, possibly Vincent van Gogh himself, staring at the viewer and having a subtle expression, suggesting that he might be thinking about something.
I wonder what is the man in the portrait thinking?
Why did Vincent van Gogh use visible brushstrokes to paint this portrait? Does he want to present something through his style of painting?
Why is the man standing outdoors and wearing a coat?
Should I make use of his visible multi-coloured brushstrokes or should I just make my brushstrokes visible
Why is the man wearing a straw hat?
