subheading: Double face self portrait
describe my
progress: I tried drawing the front view and side view of my face. I think it can be more detailed so it will look more realistic.
subheading: contour outline of self-portrait
describe my progress: I use a pencil to outline my self portrait. I think this is quite easy.
subheading: Carbon copy of contour outline
describe my progress: I trace the outline of my self-portrait. I think this part is also quite easy.
subheading: positive & negative design self portrait
describe my progress: I need to darken some parts of the drawing to have the positive&negative design self portrait. At first i was unsure where i should darken as i was afraid that it will ruin the artwork howere i was quite happy with the way it turns out to be.
subheading: skin tone #1
describe my progress:
this part is about mixing and trying different colour. I think this was quite fun and interesting to mix the colours and get new colour.
subheading: skin tone #2
describe my progress: I think this is one of the hardest step as it was not easy to find my own skin colour . However, I think mixing the different colour and get a new colour was quite interesting.
subheading: painting#1
describe my progress: I started painting my face. I was unsure of how i should paint it but im quite satisfied how it looks like. I think i can add in more shadows at the neck to make it look more realistic.
subheading: painting#2
describe my progress: I painted my hair and my shirt. I wanted to show the different tones and shadows of my hair but i think the colours were too dark and the colour was quite similar so i couldnt really get the tone difference. I think i can mix some of the colour alot darker or lighter to show the tone difference.
subheading: silkscreen
describe my progress: I think this was quite interesting as it a whole new experience for me.
subheading: silkscreen black printing
describe my progress: I think this step is quite easy and its fun.
subheading: silkscreen red printing
describe my progress: simple and easy:)
subheading: final artwork
describe my progress: I think the lips colour is too light so it looks kinda weird. But i think the shirt is really nice due to the shadows and colour tone ( thanks to ms gan:))) . I think overall i really like this piece alot as this is my first time doing this and it turns out better than i expected.

What are the subjects in the Artwork?
Plants, woman, monkey and cat
What are the Elements of Art used in the Artwork?
colour, lines, shapes
What are some subjects in the foreground, middleground and background of the Artwork?
leaves and plants as the background, the cat and monkey as the middleground and the woman as the foreground as she's the focus of the painting
How are the subject matters arranged?
The leaves and plants are used as the background so that the background does not look so empty and adds more stories. The animals add in more stories. The woman is the main focus of the painting.
Why did you think the artist arranged the subjects in this manner?
The main focus is the woman follow by the cats and then the plants/leaves.
What do you think the Artist is trying to communicate in the artwork? How does the artwork make you feel?
I think the artist is trying to say the woman is trapped by the thorns and animals in a jungle. The artwork make me feel that the girl is trap by people and does not have freedom.
How do you think the elements of art were used to convey the Artist's intentions?
The different tone of colour and colour shows the change and the shapes shows the different subjects/items.

What are you wonder about the Artist's thought processes?

What is interesting to you about this Artwork? And why?
I think instead of using those locks to show that the woman is trapped, the artist uses thorns to show that the woman is trapped in the jungle
Are there any areas such as the title, style, or medium of the artwork that you are unsure and would like to know more?
what kind of style did the artist use for this artwork
What do you like to keep, destroy or replace? Why?
I will destroy this artwork as I think that this artwork will bring back negative memories of woman having no freedom. I hope by destroying this artwork, its like cutting the thorns at the woman's neck and give her freedom. By destroying this artwork, I hope that women will have freedom from then on and live more happily.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRINTMAKING (SILKSCREEN PRINTING) AND PAINTING? WHICH DO YOU PREFER AND WHY?
My Reflections:
You need to add in a lot of details and add different colours for different parts for painting while silkscreen printing you can use only one colour and you do not need to add in any details for it. I prefer silkscreen printing as i think that its more fun and its a new experience for me.
HOW WOULD I LIKE TO IMPROVE MY WORK IF I WERE DO MY SILKSCREEN OR PAINTING AGAIN? PLS SPECIFY ONE TYPE.
My Reflections: I will improve on my painting. I will try to add in more details to make it look more realistic.
