I see Frida with a thorn necklace from which a hummingbird hangs, with a monkey looking distracted fiddling with the necklace, causing frida to bleed. There is also a black cat on her other shoulder. there are butterflies and dragonflies above her head.
What are the subjects in the Artwork?
Frida, the monkey and cat, the necklace and hummingbird
What are the Elements of Art used in the Artwork?
line, space, value, form, texture, and color.
What are some subjects in the foreground, middleground and background of the Artwork?
The hummmingbird and thorn necklace are in the foreground, Frida in the middleground, the monkey, cat and plants in the backgrouns.
How are the subject matters arranged?
The focus is on Frida in the centre, the monkey and cat are arranged symetrically at either sides of her to show a slight significance but still ensure the spotlight is on Frida.
Why did you think the artist arranged the subjects in this manner?
So Frida is still the centre of attention and prompt people to have questions revolving around her.
What do you think the Artist is trying to communicate in the artwork? How does the artwork make you feel?
Most of her work consists of self-portraits, which deal directly with her struggle with medical issues, infertility, and her troubeparate Frida on which to project her anguish and pain. Her self-portraits may be a way for Kahlo to reclaim her body from medical issues and gender conformity. This makes me feel sad for her as it must have been a struggle for her both mentally and physically.
How do you think the elements of art were used to convey the Artist's intentions?
The color, lines and texture of the artwork puts the spotlight on frida to attract viewers attention, leading them to have questions about the artwork.

What went through the Artist's mind while creating the artwork?
What is interesting to you about this Artwork? And why?
The cat. It was placed there randomly not doing anything, there must have been a reason for the Artist to include it.

no
What do you like to keep, destroy or replace? Why?
no
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRINTMAKING (SILKSCREEN PRINTING) AND PAINTING? WHICH DO YOU PREFER AND WHY?
My Reflections:
Painting is a bit more complicated as it is hard to get the colors and tones right, so i would prefer silkscreen painting as it is very satisfying to drag the ink down and have fun watching the colors mix.
HOW WOULD I LIKE TO IMPROVE MY WORK IF I WERE DO MY SILKSCREEN OR PAINTING AGAIN? PLS SPECIFY ONE TYPE.
My Reflections:
I would like to try and get the colors for my painting right next time.
