Contour outline of self photo
This process was daunting as we had to outline the photo correctly, plus, when we made a mistake, and erased it, the photo itself is also being risked getting erased off. This process taught me to be careful and to focus on the task, in order not to make avoidable mistakes and cusing more trouble for myself.
Carbon copy of contour outline
This process was fairly easy as if we did the first process correctly, this would go well too. In this process, I learnt that mistakes made before could also reflect on our work now, so we should take every task, no matter how menial it seem to be, with utmost importance.
Positive and Negative design
This process was very fun, I really enjoyed the satisfication when I was able to perfectly spread the ink over the paper. I learnt to check and ensure that everything is correct and in place before acting. If i did not check that the ink was correctly aligned, I could have caused an avoidable mess, and more trouble for my art teacher.
Frame of Silkscreen printing
This was a very long process, with us spending about 40mins-1hour in the dark room. It was very dark and hot, however, it was time well spent. I learnt alot of things, from how to apply the chemicals correctly, how to blow dry the chemicals to the correct extent, to how to print and wash this art piece. It was an enriching experience, and I also learnt to be patient and enjoy the whole process.
Double Faced Self-Portrait
This art piece forced me to think out of the box, to be able to draw my face from a totally different perspective, the perspective I was not familiar with. It forces me to create an image of how I would look like, and draw it out. It was a tough process and I felt accomplished at being able to complete this art piece.
Drawing
This process was to take my 'Double Faced Self-Portrait' and arrange it into another art piece, that resembles Vincent Van Gogh's 'Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe'. This process got me thinking and exploring of different ways to adapt Van Gogh's art style, yet still maintaining my own style of art. This process allowed me to learn more about people's art styles, and it definitely stretched my creavity and helped me to increase my adaptability.
Painted
This process was to paint my 'Drawing', in a way Van Gogh would have done. I was satisfied that I was able to incorporate Van Gogh's 'wavy' background style. I really enjoyed this process, as I was able to learn more of colour theory, and how to blend out the exact shade of colour I desired. This allowed me to design my art piece exactly how I wanted it like, and I was pretty satisfied with my end result considering that I did not have a strong suit in Art before.

I can see a man portrayed in the middle of the art piece, smoking a pipe, smoke of the pipe being shown coming out
The man is also drawn with a bandaged right ear, two layers of clothes, one of them being a green coat
The colour orange to contrast the green coat and the man's green eyes
On the orange background, different shades of orange are used, with subtle patterns drawn with different shades of orange to suggest a wavy/uneven texture of the background
Wrinkles were also displayed on the man's face suggesting an uneven texture of the man's face
I think the artist arranged the man in the middle to allow audiences to focus solely on the man, as he is the main subject of this art piece
Contrasting colours of orange and green chosen by artist could enable the main subject of the art piece to stand out easier and more
Patterns which suggests smoke coming out of the pipe, the uneven background and uneven texture of the man's face enabled the art piece to look more natural, enabling the audience to easily understand this piece of art work by Van Gogh.
Why did the artist choose for the bandage to be on his right ear, not the left?
Why did the artist choose to equip the man with a pipe and bandaged ear out of all objects?
Would it be better if the different shades of orange in the background was blended?
Would it be better if the piece of cloth on the top of the man's head was expanded such that it was like a hood covering his head?
