double face drawing
i drew myself of pictures taken of me
sketch of self portrait
i traced my printed picture onto another paper with carbon paper. i had to be very careful as the carbonpaper could unallign easily and the lines would not match if it were to shift in the middle of tracing
darkening of self portrait
i used a permanent marker to colour in the shadows in my traced picture to show to contrasting colours for the next step. as the marker was thicker than the lines, i had to trace carefully
wax
i used bluescreen wax to make this portrait. as people are constantly walking in and out of the dark room i had to ensure it wasnt going to be greatly affected
1st print
using the wax portrait i printed my face onto a peice of paper. however, it was not properly printed and the eyes were not completely coloured
2nd print
a retry with red ink with same problem
1st draft

What do you think the artist is trying to portray?

WHAT I SEE:
I see a woman with black animals and leaves in the background
she has twines around her neck with many leaves behind to serve as a background
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE ARTIST IS TRYING TO PORTRAY:
her sadness, loneliness, covered in the nature
HOW DO I WANT TO ADAPT THIS STYLE INTO MY SELF-PORTRAIT:
add animals and nature into the background, having things around my neck but not twigs
adding some trees instead of using leaves
choosing pets instead of animals that are seen in forests
