MY WORKS IN PROGRESS
Double Faced Self-Portrait
when i saw this potrait, i honestly felt quite disappointed 🙃 this is because i felt that it didnt look as good as i wanted it to be even though i tried my best! 😔
Contour Outline of Self-Portrait
as this is just an outline, i was pretty happy as it looked fine and normal. 😌 i could have improved on putting more shadows on my face though! 🙂
Carbon Copy of Contour Outline
this was a carbon copy of the previous outline thus it looks kinda similar. 👍 i could improve on the hair as i feel like its abit messy now. 😊
Positive and Negative Design
i am kinda disappointed in this as i felt like the positive and negative did not contrast each other as much as i desired.😬 i can definately do better if i practice more! 💪
Skin tone colour palette (1)
this was not really completed and not done well to me as we had little time left. ☹️ though we had little time, i enjoyed trying it out! 😄
Skin tone colour palette (2)
i redone the whole thing as i wasnt satisfied with the previous one. 😶 this one turned out better and i am quite pleased! 🥳
Skin tone testing on hand
i am proud of this test on my hand as i realised that i managed to make a colour really similar to my skin tone. 🤩 i am not sure if the picture was able to catch the colour but it was similar! 😃
Skin tone painting on self-portrait (1)
i am pretty disappointed in this attempt as you can see that the skin tone is really different from me. 😐 i also was not able to get back the colour i got the prevous week. 😢
Skin tone painting on self-portrait (2)
i tried changing the skin tone by painting over but i dont think it made much difference. 😕 this might be because its a second layer and not on a white surface but on a darke coloured one! 😵
Skin tone painting with background
the colour of the background made my potrait stand out more. 🤗 i am happy that i picked the correct colour! 😛
Silkscreen painting
the process went smoothly and well. 😍i think i could have washed it more so there will not be blobs of paint at the bottom. 🤓
Black print of self- potrait
this went really smoothly and it was relatively easy! 🆙 it is kinda cool in my opinion and i like it! 💗
Red print of self potrait
trying a different colour was a good choice as they both give off different vibes and i really like both. 🥰 i would even like to try out more colours if possible! 💖
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRINTMAKING (SILKSCREEN PRINTING) AND PAINTING? WHICH DO YOU PREFER AND WHY?
My Reflections:
I think that the difference between both is that printmaking is more of drawing and painting is more of using paint. This is because for printmaking, we just need to draw it out and not paint it in colour. For painting, brushes and paint is needed to paint. I prefer printmaking as I personally think it is really cool and it is also easier than painting.
HOW WOULD I LIKE TO IMPROVE MY WORK IF I WERE DO MY SILKSCREEN OR PAINTING AGAIN? PLS SPECIFY ONE TYPE.
My Reflections:
I would improve my painting by using a smaller brush so I can paint neater and it will look nicer. I feel that the brush I used was too big thus I did not paint the smaller details as well.
