We practiced counting objects carefully by putting them into groups of ten and extra ones. The children organized items in ten frames to be accurate. They learned new games to practice writing equations like "Build and Remove". They showed totals on ten frames, rolled a dot cube to figure out how many to take away, and figured out the answer. Then they recorded the numbers to write equations. Students also practiced writing numbers accurately by making sure they did reverse or transpose digits. 

Science 

The children continued to learn about force and motion this week with the sled dog presentation. They practiced pulling their friends in the sled and noticed how hard it was in the deep snow. They also used sleds on Friday to practice push/pull on the playground before sledding for fun. We will continue this unit after break while also learning about different ecosystems around the world.
