This week we played lots of games to become comfortable reading, writing, and ordering teen numbers. The students practiced making teen numbers using ten frames. This tool helped them see the group of ten and extra ones. Students often mix up the places in numbers and say "51" for the number 15. We will work on exploring place vlaue with numbers to 20. This will help everyone develop a strong understanding of what the tens and ones place means in numbers. 

Science 

We started a new unit on entomology. The children are learning about different kinds of bugs. They looked for insects, arachnids, and myriapods in books. They listened for fun "wow" facts to share in their writing. We are looking forward to warmer weather when we can search for bugs outside!
