This week the students practiced saying the number before and after another. They listened to different math problems, visualized what happened, and represented the problem with pictures, numbers, and/or equations. We also focused on number combinations and found different ways to make totals of 10 (8+2 or 6+4). We ended the week playing BINGO together!

Social Studies 

We learned about cardinal directions and what a compass rose is on maps. The students learned how to use the four directions to find places on a map. We finished making maps of our classroom and started looking at a school map. The class enjoyed using a map of UCS to locate rooms in the school. We discussed why these maps would be useful to others. Next week we will look at maps of our town.
