This week the children practiced adding two amounts to determine which was greater. They played the card game Double Compare to count and determine the larger total. You can use regular cards to play this game at home. They practiced telling the number that comes before and after in the game “One More, One Less. They also reviewed the counting sequence and practiced writing teen numbers.

Science 

We starting another unit on Ecology. During this unit, students will learn about ecosystems during literacy blocks. This week we reviewed living vs nonliving things and began learning about grasslands.

We completed part 3 of the Scat and Tracks program from VT Fish and Wildlife. This week we learned about the gray squirrel. We learned about their habitat, food, and fun facts. We found a lot of tracks in the woods!
