Manager
Kathy is the manager of the business for the past five years. Kathy holds a senior coaching certificate. As a manager, she is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all volunteers and employees. It is the policy of Gymnastics across Australia to make every reasonable effort to prevent accidents, protect employees and volunteers from injury, and promote the health, safety and welfare of all volunteers and employees.
Duties
Checking if the equipment and other facilities are intact and not dangerous to use
Making sure that the customers and/or the customer’s child(ren) are safe
Keeping track of attendance of the coaches and other staff
Keeping track of the budget
Making sure that the customer service is at its best
Scheduling classes
Organizing coaches
Identifying hazards, assess the hazard and remove it
Plans and organises the range and mix of programmes ordered by the centre.
Organises publicity to promote facilities and attract clients.
Selects, trains and supervises staff.
Ensures facilities are properly maintained and conform to safety standards.

Beginner Coaches
The beginner coaches help young children at the age of 8 and under develop their skills and abilities under the guidance of a supervisor. Werribee gymnastics has 6 beginner coaches at the center, employed at a casual rate. Beginner coaches many coach younger children with the basics of gymnastics.

Intermediate Coaches
The intermediate coaches help plan and set up the sessions without the guidance of a supervisor. Werribee gymnastics has 4 Intermediate coaches at the center, employed at a part-time and casual rate.

Advanced Coaches
The advanced coach help teach gymnasts from Level 3-6. Werribee gymnastics has 65 Advanced coaches at the center, employed at a full-time, part-time and casual rate.

Between 2014 and 2019, the number of people had grown very strongly from 42,200 to 59,700. Werribee Gymnastics Club is always on the lookout for people with a passion for teaching children, an interest in physical activities and a desire to be an excellent coach. They offer to help young people to be a qualified coach in ‘Gymnastics for All’, ‘Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and ‘Kindergym’ programs. Werribee Gymnastics Gym offers work experience.
The steps for becoming a qualified coach are:
Traineeship
You will be able to volunteer at the Club observing and assisting the qualified coaches in a range of different classes. This is to help you decide whether you are interested in pursuing a coach position and if you are a right fit for the club
Beginner Coach
After successfully completing the trainee component, the next step is to enter an online and face-to-face course in order to become a qualified beginner coach. From there on, the beginner coach will be paid during coaching hours
(you will be required to be 14 and over for this training)
Intermediate Coach
For coaches 16 years of age and over, you will be able to complete an intermediate qualification with a choice of Gymnastics for All, Kindergym, or Women’s Artistic Gymnastics programs. Once the qualifications are completed, you’ll be able to coach unsupervised
Advanced Coach
For coaches 17 years of age and over, you will be able to complete an advanced qualification with a choice of Gymnastics for All, Kindergym, or Women’s Artistic Gymnastics programs. This part of the course will take longer to complete so it is for those interested in coaching high-level gymnasts
OHS Management
Werribee Gymnastics Club must follow the WorkSafe policy as they pay for membership every three months in order to keep clients, employees and visitors safe.

Broken shift
An employee working a rostered broken shift must be paid per day $14.16 extra and for excess fares an expense-related allowance of $1.95 per day

An employee who is rostered by an employer to be on first aid duty at a particular time must be paid $2.66 extra per day.
Meal
An employee required to work overtime for more than one and a half hours immediately after their ordinary hours of work must be paid a meal allowance of $12.35 unless the employer provides a meal.
Uniforms and protective clothing
An employee who is required to wear specific clothing as part of their employment must be reimbursed for the reasonable cost of:

Laundering or dry cleaning the clothing
Unless the clothing is provided by the employer without cost to the employee or is cleaned by the employer (where the clothing is provided by the employer it will remain the property of the employer)
