OHS Management:
As a construction business, we have to ensure that our work area is safe and in accordance with the OHS act at all times due to the nature of our machinery. All employees take part in a safety induction about all workplace rules and regulations, first aid and personal provisions are provided. Our employees can also report OHS concerns and incidents. We provide our employees with adequate PPE, training and knowledge of their workplace to make sure that employees are aware of safe practices at work at all times. Signage is used every where on our premises, whether it is for the locations of buildings such as our office or for high risk areas such as our concrete bins holding our quarry product, and our plant equipment used for batching concrete. Our employees are required to wear steel capped boots and high visibility clothing at all times including hardhats, everything other than steel capped boots are provided. All employees must have their white card to be eligible for work in our business, we also educate and inform each employee of our unique practices as a business with an induction. We make an effort to reinforce our OHS practices every year, we document every incident that occurs and use appropriate MSDS for any substances kept on site. We also require documentation from employees on their medical conditions and emergency contacts in the result of an accident. The owners of the business and managers are constantly on the lookout for any hazards and their risks, we also encourage employees to report any hazards that they see or would like to be addressed. As a business we do not use an official risk assessment document, we keep a keen eye everyday on new hazards that we see, all staff are responsible for reporting any issues and keeping the workplace and themselves safe. Employees can directly report any OHS issues they see directly to their manager or owners.

Our employment opportunities:
Unfortunately, at the moment, we are not offering any employment opportunities.
Due to the nature of our business a new employee needs to have a particular set of skills and qualifications, due to the operation of heavy machinery such as trucks, loaders and plant equipment. We select new employees to interview based on their resume sent to us, if it is approved we will request an interview, past that point we judge new interviewees on their qualifications and presentation of themselves. For an interviewee without prior experience in the job they’re applying for, it is more unlikely to get a job with us, as our judgement will be completely based on the interview and resume and not any prior experience. However for an employee that claims to have experience, while still being based on resume and interview, we make an assessment based on the experience you have and how valuable it is in our business. We look for employees that are willing to take on new challenges and trying to expand their knowledge, hard work and a respectful attitude to colleagues is also key in being successful in our business. Our business is now just over 40 years old and has been run on the same property with the same family owners since 1980. We believe that our history has shown the long term viability of our business, and we have employees that have been with us for close to 20 years. If you are willing to take on a career with us for the long term, we can provide that. If you wish to apply for a job at All West, we look for reliability, patience, communication and respectfulness, these skills are essential for being a successful employee in our business, if you have these skills, you will have no trouble in learning the new skills that are required to do well in our business. COVID Information:
Our business luckily remained open during COVID as construction was still happening and we needed to provide concrete for numerous jobs. We currently employ all required COVID safe practices by the government, including social distancing where possible, masks within close proximity of others, and limiting people entering enclosed premises such as our office at once. Our rules and regulations for being COVID safe change with the state’s rules, whatever is required by the state is what we do. Part of our COVID safe plan is using a sign in sheet for all employees and visitors when entering the premises. If an outbreak were to happen again, in which our business would still be able to operate, we would not be accepting cash payments, all of our drivers would need to wear masks and ensure social distancing on site. During the short 5 day lockdown however, we were forced to shut down our operations.
