4th-Grade Making Art
In 4th-Grade visual arts, students will recognize that explorative play with materials can inspire ideas for visual art and design as they recognize how the human experience is expressed in diverse ways. They will identify and describe how visual art and design communicate meaning between any subject, discipline, event, or issue, as they compare how artists work in different cultures and at different times in history. Additionally, students will work to communicate plans for completing works of visual art and design as they problem-solve and persist to determine the outcome of a final product. discuss and define how to determine appropriate criteria for a given work of art as they as the discuss and for an opinion about the social and personal value of art. Lastly, through a survey lesson titled "What is Art," students will discuss and define how to determine appropriate criteria for a given work of art as they as the discuss and for an opinion about the social and personal value of art (Visual Arts - 2020 Colorado Academic Standards, 2020).
