In 3rd-Grade visual arts, students will use the language of visual art and design as a tool to help determine artistic intent and discuss how the use of a material supports or detracts from the artists intended meaning. Additionally, students learn to use peer feedback to inform next steps and or improve a work of art as they envision solutions to artmaking problems and demonstrate an understanding of how experimentation helps develop art-making with purpose and intent, and how research informed a personal work of art. Lastly, students will connect the meaning of personal works of art to historical, cultural, or community events, as they demonstrate an understanding of how research inspires the development of ideas (Visual Arts - 2020 Colorado Academic Standards, 2020).
