2nd-Grade Making Art

In 2nd-Grade visual arts, students will describe how artists choose certain materials to communicate ideas, while discovering how similar ideas can be expressed in multiple ways, as they determine what art vocabulary is useful when discussing works of art and design. Students will begin to recognize that artists use different forms of research to inform their practice, as they explain choices made in the art-making process. Finally, students will recognize how visual art and design is interdisciplinary as they investigate the role of art and design in our communities and the world and create finished works of art (Visual Arts - 2020 Colorado Academic Standards, 2020).
