5th-Grade Art

The Lesson: As an introduction to the functions of the Google Drawing app tools, as well as a review of the definition of abstract art, and in an effort to familiarize students with the tools within the Google Drawing app, students were asked to create an abstract "line drawing," utilizing each of the available tools within the Google Drawing "line toolbox"; while applying all assignment criteria discussed in class.

Lesson Objectives: Students can observe and discuss how visual art and design exist in a shared contemporary world as they investigare ahd discuss how popular culture influences visual art and design, while utilizing contemporary media to effectively communicate intended meaning (Visual Arts - 2020 Colorado Academic Standards, 2020).
