A Little about Me

I am in my 19th year of teaching. I have spent my teaching career in Council Bluffs at Franklin Elementary, Wilson Middle School, and currently at Lewis Central Middle School. I have my master’s degree and endorsements in K-6 classroom, 5-8 Middle School Generalist, K-8 Reading, and 5-12 Reading. I have a passion for new teachers and have taken on facilitation of the Lewis Central Induction Program.

My hobbies include reading, camping, kayaking, and crafting. I have a passion for reading and love to help students find the right book and watch them get excited to read. I paint, crochet, and create do-it-yourself projects. I also love photography and have photographed several weddings, senior pictures, engagement photos, as well as family pics.

Spencer

My husband of 20 years. Spencer works at a nonprofit foreign language company. His hobbies include technology, camping, and remote control cars. You will often find him with computer parts spread out all around him as he fixes and tinkers with computers.

Kendra

My 18 year old daughter. She is a freshman at Concordia University in Seward, NE. She is majoring in Music Education. She can be found singing, playing piano, in the band, or participating in theater. She also loves art and crafting. She has a passion for fine arts.

My 16 year old son. He is a junior at Lewis Central High School. Taylor plays on the HS soccer and golf teams. He is also a member of Corporation, one of LC’s show choirs, and just started private piano lessons. He loves camping, fishing, kayaking, cooking, and technology.

Why Instructional Coaching?

Instructional Coaching is all about partnering with a teacher around a student-centered learning goal and working together to improve student achievement. I chose to take on this role, because I love helping others. Coaching allows me to work in various contents, helping students excel. My favorite part of coaching is when students see me in the hall and ask if I am coming to their class today! Melts my heart!
