I grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska in Bassett. Growing up in a small town with my three brothers was a great adventure. I’m sure my parents hope my kids cause me as many gray hairs as we caused them. We played every sport imaginable and all developed a strong passion for the outdoors. We once rode our bikes 9 miles one way to go fishing. Just as we got there, my dad showed up, took our poles, and made us ride home. Probably should have asked for permission, but we already knew the answer. We still to this day do not know how he found out. My passion for the outdoors continues, and I enjoy hunting and fishing whenever I have a chance. When I’m not in the outdoors, you can find me enjoying any Husker athletic event. I am a huge Nebraska sports junkie. I graduated high school from Rock County High School. After high school I attended and received my Bachelors degree in education from Dana College and later received my Masters degree in instructional technology from Peru State.
I am married to a wonderful wife Katy and have two kids, Lilly and Huk. Katy is also a teacher in the Omaha Public School District, and we have been married for 8 years. She enjoys reading and cooking in her free time. Lilly is a 7 year old going on 17. She is a 2nd grader and already has a passion for soccer and dance. She is my number one fishing partner, and it never fails that when she goes, she catches all the fish. Huk is 6 weeks old. Talk about an exciting end to the summer. I’m just waiting for the day he sleeps through the night. It can’t come soon enough.
This is the start of my 13th year teaching Science at Lewis Central, and I have loved every one of them. The great groups of students we have in the district really makes my job enjoyable. Besides teaching, I have coached a variety of sports at LC from middle school volleyball to high school wrestling. I currently coach middle school cross country, wrestling & track.
