I was born and raised in Ohio except for three years when I lived in Yokohama, Japan. The summer before I was ready to begin middle school, my father was transferred overseas to manage the Parker Hannifin plants in Southeast Asia.
After college, I married a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan. For those of you who might remember, those were the days of “The Cardiac Kids.” Over the following years, we were blessed with two daughters and a son who we raised in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
Fast forward ….
My daughters and I made the pilgrimage to Iowa about ten years ago. If you want to know what drew us here, I will let my daughter, Mrs. Carr, 7th grade Science, share that story.
I began my teaching career in Iowa as a Special Education teacher at Kirn Middle School. This will be my fourth year as a Special Education teacher at Lewis Central Middle School.
I am proud of my three millennial children. My oldest daughter is a 7th grade science teacher here at LCMS. My middle daughter lives in Omaha where she is enjoying a career in human resources at a large communication company. She is also a published author. My son, the baby, still lives in Ohio where he is quickly climbing the corporate ladder of restaurant management in a growing eatery. Our fingers are crossed that he will be able to open a new restaurant in Omaha. I am blessed to have two brilliant granddaughters who are coming up the ranks of Lewis Central.
My interests include reading, traveling, crocheting for charitable causes, binge-watching Netflix and Hulu, and taking walks with my two adorable, short-hair Chihuahuas.
