Ms. Cole

This is my first full-time teaching position, and I am SO excited to be at LC!!

• I grew up in a small town in Eastern Iowa - Manchester, Iowa. I have one older sister (25) and one younger brother (15) - yes, I’m lucky enough to be the middle child! My family and I have an English Springer Spaniel named Zeke, and he is 11 years old. My family still lives in Manchester - which is 4.5 hours away from Council Bluffs.

• High School: West Delaware High School in Manchester, Iowa.
• I was heavily involved in activities in high school (Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Homecoming Committee, Student Council, FBLA, )
• College: Kirkwood Community College & Iowa State University
• I went to Kirkwood and played softball softball, and I graduated with my Associate’s Degree after one year.
• I spent the last 3 years of my college career in Ames at Iowa State University. I played on a competitive Club Softball team where I served as the Vice President. I also participated in a Future Math Teachers Club on campus.
• Earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Mathematics Endorsement.
• Student Teaching:
  • I completed my student teaching in Denver, Colorado in the Cherry Creek School District. I was in a 5th grade general education classroom for 8 weeks and a 6th grade math classroom for 8 weeks.

• I have been coaching various sports for the past 3 years. It is a huge passion of mine that I was lucky to discover at an early age. I coached middle school basketball for two seasons, middle school volleyball for one season, and high school softball for 3 seasons. I also give softball pitching lessons in my spare time.
• My hobbies include painting, reading, listening to music, and going for walks. I’m always interested to hear about new books and music!
• I’m a HUGE Netflix/Hulu binge watcher!
