Ms. Trecek

I grew up in Bellevue and in a very big, loving, family. I practically do everything with my family from mother-daughter trips to Mackinac, MI, family vacations to Park Rapids, MN, or just hanging around being a goofball, playing games, and throwing the gauntlet in escape rooms. Two of my sisters and I traveled to Disney World last February to run the Princess 5k and Princess Half Marathon together= when the Trecek sisters unite, we get things done! And while I love feeling on the movement and academic frenzy of a school day, it is wonderful to go home to my fuzzy family, Bennet (Golden Retriever, literal “Golden Child), Breagan (Irish Setter, aka The Diva), and Bodie (Bernese Mountain Dog, or the 120 pound lap dog as he seems to think). Collectively, the pups are known as “The Floofies.”

I have always loved having something to do, and feel I truly became successful in school when I got involved in the performing arts. I was an active member in theatre and the International Thespian Society, concert and show choirs, and marching, concert, and pep band, continuing my passions in theatre and choir through college. I try to attend as many local theatre events and have even made a few on-stage appearances at The Bellevue Little Theatre, The Blue Barn, and The Omaha Community Playhouse. If it involves getting dressed up in a crazy costume, I’m in! My love of theatre definitely bleeds into my love of Spirit Week, any excuse to make a costume!

In recent years, I’ve discovered I actually like The Outside and have tromped around woods geocaching, embraced water sports like paddleboarding, kneeboarding, and waterskiing, and found that I can’t beat the rush that running brings. Sometimes, I meld my love of reading with my Great Outdoor Adventures and leave books in public spaces for others to pick up and enjoy! When the weather turns nasty and I’m not able to get outside, I write or play games.

I love filling my day with a sense of challenge, adventure, and a smidge of quirkiness, including the school day! I am in my 6th year of full-time teaching, all of which has been at LCMS! I have taught 7th, 8th, and now live in the world of 6th-grade where I can share my love of reading all the books, writing short or long creations, language development and quirks, and learning through technology.
