During PE lessons this term, pupils in Comet class have been using exploring running. They have been practising running at different speeds and in different directions in a controlled manner.

During Maths lessons this term, pupils in Comet class have been using a range of language to describe objects. They have been comparing the size of objects based on a range of different criteria.

During their cookery lessons this term pupils in Comet class have been creating classic dishes linked to Great Britain. They have been working hard to follow the recipes carefully and to be able to use different utensils and equipment in a safe and hygienic way.

We have been practising using utensils safely whilst creating a range of different recipes.

The children have been carrying out investigations to find out whether the material that a car travels along affects the distance it travels.

The children had been learning about the different continents of the world and were asked to locate them on a globe.

Comet class have had a very busy module 3. We have enjoyed looking at our lines of inquiry and finding out all about how our environments change throughout the year.
In cooking, we have been continuing to develop our cutting skills, following recipes as well as understanding where our food comes from. As part of our PSPD curriculum, we have been tackling a new challenge as a class and have been learning to sew. During these sessions, we have been looking at how challenges make us feel and how we can overcome our difficulties.
Learning Objective: I can compare two lengths and describe one as longer or shorter.

Different festivals are celebrated in different ways.
Health is important for our bodies and our minds.
Comet class has enjoyed exploring our central idea of ‘History and culture influences who we are’. We have been learning about Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth II and their family trees. Within our ‘Health is important for our bodies and our minds’ line of inquiry, we have been learning about healthy eating during our cooking and nutrition lessons and have followed recipes to make healthy festive favourites. We have enjoyed visiting Fairfield leisure centre this term and developing our swimming skills. Milestone@DPA were also lucky enough to have a visit from a retired fireman who brought along some fire helmets from across the decades and continents. We all had great fun trying on the helmets and asking him lots of questions!
