Welcome back after the summer holidays! We hope you had a wonderful break and are ready for an exciting term ahead. There have been lots of changes to our outside spaces, and although we are eagerly awaiting the completion of our updated playground, we have already been enjoying the new accessible swing and the basket swing alongside our friends.
This term, in line with our lines of inquiry, we will be learning about kind and caring people from long ago – exploring the work of Florence Nightingale and how nurses care for others, Albert Einstein and the role of teachers, and David Attenborough and how he helps us care for the planet. As always, we will continue to focus on developing gross motor skills, working on our physio programmes, building independence in washing and hygiene routines, and exploring healthy eating through delicious seasonal recipes.
This year in Phase 2, we are also introducing our new reading mascots to encourage a love of reading for pleasure. Coast Class will be visiting the local library with our very own mascot, Shelly the Seahorse, who will also be coming home with the children to share in your reading adventures – we’d love to see photos of these on Evidence for Learning!
Please see below for our activity schedule this term:
Monday – Library
Tuesday – Soft play & Cooking (please send a named container so children can bring home their goodies)
Thursday – Interactive room, Inquiry Learning & Aqualearn (please ensure swim kits are sent in; inquiry learning may get messy!)
Friday – Rebound & Inquiry Learning
