World War II and Economics

Introduction

The crisis of World War II required a profound re-ordering of America's economic system.  Factories that had lain half-idle during the Great Depression were soon producing huge amounts of war material and every American had a job.  The strains of the war would require a huge effort and America would transformed into the Arsenal of Democracy.
