The Cold War

Introduction

The Cold War was an ideological, economic, political, and military struggle between the capitalist world, led by the United States, and the Communist World, led by the Soviet Union.  While both the US and the USSR managed to avoid direct conflict (and thus, nuclear war), their struggle would take them into proxy conflicts around the world.
