WWII and Civil Rights
Introduction
The enormity of the effort required to fight World War II required the mobilization of many aspects of American society. The incredible manpower needs of the war meant that no section of American society would be left untouched, as workers and soldiers were called from all corners of the nation. This would place tremendous strain on the existing social order, creating new opportunities for Americans of all types, including those traditionally left behind.
