It has been another action-packed week at school with our learning community learning and celebrating together. It was fantastic to gather for assemblies, a vital part of our school life, allowing us to share successes, reflect on our values, and celebrate together. This week, there was a wave of excitement building as we look forward to the upcoming Football World Cup - an opportunity to reflect on this significant global event, celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and international culture. Hopefully there will be some amazing matches too!
Our pupils have shown incredible dedication this week. We are especially proud of our children in Years One and Two, who completed their Phonics Screening Check with fabulous focus. Equally, our Year Four pupils showed amazing determination during the Multiplication Tables Check. Also, we were delighted to welcome Julie Jones, the Interim CEO of the Danes Educational Trust, to our school on Wednesday. Julie spent time visiting classrooms and was very impressed by the purposeful atmosphere. Well done everyone!
It was exciting to have some expert visitors this week, to help enrich the curriculum and bring the learning alive. In Year Six, children welcomed a magistrate who deepened their understanding of the UK justice system and helped the children to find out about this fascinating career. Meanwhile, our reception children enjoyed a fascinating visit from a local beekeeper, learning all about the vital role bees play in our ecosystem and getting a closer look at this wonderful wildlife. We will continue to arrange visitors and other enrichment activities for each year group over the coming months as we continue our Jupiter Futures initiative where we are exploring aspirations together.
The children have enjoyed exploring the new play equipment and markings, despite the rather wet weather. We are also looking forward to having some further refurbishment of the playground over the summer with the removal of the old raised beds and repair to the play equipment outside Year Two. This work is scheduled to take place in August. Thank you to the children for your patience while we wait to have this done during the longer summer holiday.
