I can hardly believe that we are already at the end of the week - what a fantastic week it has been!  After an enjoyable long weekend, KS1 and 2 started with a flourish as we were treated to an amazing violin recital in our assembly on Tuesday.  Well done to Ivy, Liona, Gabriella and Sophia  for showing such talent as well as having courage and resilience when performing in front of such a large audience.

Over the course of the week, many decorations and lights have started to appear as we begin to prepare to celebrate Christmas.  This was also a theme that we explored in our assembly as we continued to look at our core value of kindness together.  We linked this to advent, which for many is a time of preparing ourselves in addition to getting the decorations, presents and food ready.  We looked at how acts of kindness can help us to spread peace and joy and we challenged ourselves to think of ways to do this.  We even looked at an acts of kindness advent calendar - which is a little different to the chocolate versions that we may be more used to!

Year Four had a wonderful time on Wednesday, as they had an amazing curriculum enrichment experience.  They were transported to Ancient Egypt and immersed in an engaging and memorable day full of learning and exploration.  Well done to the children for participating so well, helping to make the day so special.  A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible including the staff and parent volunteers who supported on the day.  Thank you also to everyone who helped the children with costumes - they looked incredible!

A quick reminder, with so much wet and cold weather forecast, please do ensure your children have suitable warm clothing to enable them to still enjoy their time outdoors. This includes a warm coat, and crucially, gloves, hats, and scarves.  Please make sure everything is clearly labelled with your child’s name.

It was great  to meet the chair of the Friends of Jupiter PTA this week and I am looking forward to supporting their important work.  Working in partnership with families is so vital to helping give your children the very best opportunities and I am looking forward to exploring how we can all work together in different ways.  As you will have seen in my letter earlier this week, I would like to invite you to join me for an informal “Meet the Headteacher” session.  I have scheduled these to happen early in the New Year on the following dates:

All of these meetings will take place in the Lodge.

It has been a wonderful first week in my new role and I would like to thank you all once again for the tremendous welcome that you have given me.  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
