This week we began with a whole-school assembly led by Miss. Yearwood about the significance of Black History Month. As each year-group prepares to learn in more detail about this important topic over the next few weeks, it was a timely reminder for our pupils to link with our value of resilience this half-term, whereby they heard about some of the adversity that some people overcame in their lives and in their endeavours. Most importantly, it gave an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the lives of individuals and groups throughout history, and I hope that we can continue to build upon our learning about diversity and inclusion as we strengthen our curriculum at Jupiter.
It was great to see so many parents and carers attend some of our CLIC sessions as well this week in Early Years and Key Stage One. Although this is our first attempt at doing these, we hope that they were both helpful and enjoyable to be able to join your child in class and see what life is like at Jupiter each day! Next week, we welcome our parents and carers in Key Stage Two. We hope as many of you are able to make them as possible.
On my walks around the school and duties outside this week, lots of the children are getting excited about the Halloween discos taking place next Wednesday and thinking about the spooky costumes to wear! If you haven’t already signed up, please see more details in the newsletter below and sign your child. Don’t miss out!
Next week I’m looking forward to meeting some of our parent community for our first Parent Forum meeting, and I look forward to sharing more feedback from this shortly after.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the time with your families and friends. See you all on Monday!
