What a very busy week it has been at Jupiter! One of the real highlights was seeing our Reception and Year Six pupils come together for their buddy assemblies. These assemblies are such an important tradition here at Jupiter, and it’s always a joy to watch the older pupils take on their role as buddies with such care and enthusiasm. For our Reception children, having a friendly face to look out for them makes such a difference in helping them feel safe, settled and part of our school community. I know these new friendships will continue to grow over the coming weeks, and I’m so proud of the way our Year Six pupils step up to support their younger peers.

We also held our first School Board meeting of the year this week. It was a really positive and forward-looking discussion, where we thought carefully about our school improvement priorities and the steps we want to take together this year. I always value the opportunity to sit down with the Board, to share ideas, reflect, and plan for the future – it really does feel like a team effort, with everyone working towards the same goal of giving our pupils the best education and experiences.

Looking ahead, October brings with it Black History Month, and we are excited to begin our learning across the school. This is a time for pupils to reflect on the importance and significance of Black history, and to discover more about individuals who have overcome adversity, shown resilience, and made a lasting contribution to society. I’m sure you’ll hear lots of conversations at home over the next few weeks about the inspiring people your children are learning about – please do encourage them to share what they find interesting and thought-provoking.

As we come to the end of the week, I want to thank you all, as always, for your continued support and feedback which you give me. I hope you enjoy a restful weekend with family and friends, and I look forward to seeing everyone back, refreshed and ready for another exciting week on Monday.
