Weekly Directions:
Creative Writing (5th period): Answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than this Friday, April 10th @ 11:59pm. We will have a discussion question every week. Please see Google Classroom project: "A Day in Life of You During a Coronavirus Era." You will create a work that documents what it's like to be you at this critical point in history. You will post this on Padlet and comment thoughtfully on a classmate's post. This is due no later than next Monday, April 13th @ 11:59pm.
HAVPA-A (4th period): Answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than this Friday, April 10th @11:59pm. We will have a discussion question every week. For your first NTI project, you will be an art critic! Review the Google Slides on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design to guide your analysis and critique of the artwork of your choice. You will complete the online worksheet for this project. This is due no later than next Monday, April 13th @ 11:59pm.
HAVPA-B (2nd, 6th, 7th periods): Answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than this Friday, April 10th @ 11:59pm. We will have one of these every week. For your first NTI project, you will analyze a style of dance that interests you according to the six elements of dance(Remember, B.A.S.T.E.R.) that we discussed in class. I have posted refresher materials on Google Classroom. You will create a Google Slides presentation on the style of dance that you researched and analyzed (10-slides) minimum. Please see Google classroom for full details of the project. This is due no later than next Friday, April 17th @ 11:59pm.

This week you will research your favorite writer - can be a novelist, poet, essayist, journalist, screenwriter, TV show writer or songwriter - and submit your work on Padlet. HAVPA-A (4th Period): Answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than Friday, April 17 @11:59pm. This week you will research a type of art and present your research on Padlet. Then you will comment thoughtfully on at least one classmate’s post. See Google Classroom for assignment specifications. This is due no later than Tuesday, April 21 @ 11:59pm.
HAVPA -B (2nd, 6th, 7th Periods): Answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than Friday, April 17 @ 11:59pm. This week you will finish up your dance projects. Make sure they are creative, thorough, complete, polished and Backpack-worthy. Remember they are due no later than Friday, April 17 @ 11:59pm.

For your next NTI project, you will copy the style of your favorite writer, the one you posted about last week. HAVPA-A (4th Period): Explore the Lascaux Caves in 360° and answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than Friday, April 24 @11:59pm. This week you will learn about cave art. You will watch a short video on cave paintings and review a slideshow of famous examples. Then you will create a cave painting of your own that tells a story of prehistoric life. Use the best materials available to you to make this look like a real cave painting (brown paper bag would be perfect). This, along with a summary of what’s depicted, is due no later than Monday, April 27th @ 11:59pm. See Google Classroom for assignment specifications.
HAVPA -B (2nd, 6th, 7th Periods): Watch this video on Surrealism and answer the discussion question in Google Classroom no later than Friday, April 24 @ 11:59pm. For your next NTI project, you will tap into your own unconscious like a true Surrealist. First you will write a detailed account of a dream you had that seemed strange, due no later than Friday, April 24 @ 11:59pm. Then you will create an artwork to represent your dream, and this can be a drawing, painting, sculpture, model, etc., due no later than Friday, May 1 @ 11:59 pm. This week you will work on your Surrealism dream art pieces, the inspiration of which will come from the dream you wrote about last week. Then you will choose one classmate’s 6-word story to elaborate on and give more context. This is due no later than Monday, May 11th @ 11:59pm. See Google Classroom for assignment specifications.
HAVPA-A (4th Period): Answer the discussion question no later than Friday, May 8th @ 11:59 pm. This week you will create a musical instrument from the materials available to you and record yourself playing the instrument. You will also provide a verbal or written explanation of how it was made, how it functions and what musical instrument group it would fit into (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion). HAVPA-B (2nd, 6th, 7th Periods): Answer the discussion question no later than Friday, May 8th @ 11:59pm. This week you will research a famous composer and create either a Google Slides presentation or brochure to present your research. .This is due no later than Friday May 15th @ 11:59 pm. Weekly Directions:
Creative Writing (5th Period): Answer the discussion question no later than Friday, May 15th @ 11:59 pm. You will complete your final NTI project in two parts. First, you will write about a strange dream that you’ve had. This is due no later than Monday, May 18 @ 11:59pm. Second, you will artistically create an artifact/symbol from your dream. You can use whatever materials you have available to you and PLEASE take the liberty to think outside the box. You can draw, paint, carve, sculpt, etc. You will explain the significance of the symbol in a short paragraph. Extra credit if you choose more than one symbol. This is due no later than Monday, May 25 @ 11:59pm.
HAVPA-B (2nd, 6th, 7th Periods): Answer the discussion question no later than Friday, May 15th @ 11:59 pm. You will complete your final NTI project in two parts. First, you will choose one song/composition by the composer you researched last week. Listen to the song several times as you respond to the questions in the listening guide. This is due no later than Monday, May 18 @ 11:59pm. Second, you will create an artwork that somehow represents the overall theme you determined in your listening guide. You can use whatever materials you have available to you and PLEASE take the liberty to think outside the box. You can draw, paint, carve, sculpt, etc. Do not hesitate to run any ideas by me. I would love to help you brainstorm! This is due no later than Monday, May 25th @ 11:59pm.

Second, you will write a one-page reflection on your self-portrait that explains your reasons for each symbol and strategic use of elements and principles.
