This week we will be doing a 1950’s sitcom skit. You will be responsible for creating a skit that is based on the 1950’s. Your skit does not have to be a 1950’s setting. You may use modern day issues with a modern day setting. Now originally this was supposed to be a group project but seeing how we are all stuck at home what could be a better way to bring the family together than to do a group project. So only if you can see if your family would be willing to participate in creating the actual video if not that’s fine too (it may be fun playing multiple people). You can use a phone, camera, computer or whatever it is you have to record the video. No recording of your skit you will need to turn in the skit.
The rules for the skit are simple:
Video:
Must be 1 - 2 minutes (no longer than 5)
Your sitcom MUST include:
Cheesy, corny jokes
Be indicative of the 50’s (think of the sitcoms videos from YouTube we’ve watched)
Show knowledge of the 50’s (IE. Gender roles, nuclear family, reliance on “ready made” goods, appliances, etc…)
Your sitcom MAY be set in modern times with modern issues…but it must be 50s-eqsue
(Please Turn in skit)
Do: write & perform skit

Hey everyone! We are wrapping it up here. Your final assignment will be to write a reflection paper on the class. As some of you know this was the first time Fern Creek has had a pop culture class, and we are honestly looking for your feedback from the experience. In a 3 to 4 paragraph essay please give us an overall analysis of the class. We want to know your experience, what you liked/disliked, what we can add, what you learned, and what we can do to make the class better for next year. So have fun with this one.
Due: 2:00 p.m. May 27th
Complete the Presidential Quiz.
After you complete the quiz complete the reflection worksheet.
Here it is! This will be your final. You will need to make sure you complete the Isidewith.com quiz before writing the letter. We are editing our project. Now that you have had some exposure to political parties, I would like you to choose between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and write to them. You will be using a standard letter format, but sending it electronically.
Due: 2:00 p.m. May 27, 2020.
